Spacetoon has two "free to air" satellite kids’ channels covering 22 countries in the Middle
East and North Africa. The broadcasting of Spacetoon Arabic first started in year 2000, while
Spacetoon English started in 2005, both airing on Nilesat digital satellite. Spacetoon TV also
airs on terrestrial channels in Egypt and Sudan.The global headquarter office of Spacetoon

Spacetoon Kids' TV in the Middle East transmits to over 130 million viewers and owns the
largest library of Arabic dubbed animation in the world. In addition to our global
animation library, Spacetoon's in-house studios produce proprietary cartoon programs.
The Arab League, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and the World Health Organization (WHO)
have signed agreements with Spacetoon Middle East
to communicate enlightening messages to our audience.
A facts and figures survey carried out in 2004 by IPSOS, a global market research firm,
identified the general viewing habits of Spacetoon's target group (5 - 14 years) in the
Middle East and found that:
90% of the targeted group received Spacetoon Kids' TV channel
79% said when they think of children's programming they think of Spacetoon
80% said Spacetoon was the most "regularly watched" TV channel
96% of mothers mentioned Spacetoon channel without being prompted
85% of mothers specified that they encourage their children to watch Spacetoon because of the "educational children's programs"
